Thanks to the independent gaming industry, one woke up from the grave of a type of game that no one looked at: Platforme / puzzle games. Even in the last two years Steam has vomited a Platforme / puzzle game. There are good ones among them, but most of them are the same. Something happens to the head character, as a result of what happened, he needs to reach a place, he sets out to reach that place, he reaches that place and it's over. The beautiful ones stand out with their graphics or story (or more of the game's summary). If these two features do not already attract people's interest.
A few months ago, while surfing the Internet, I learned that a game with graphics would be ported to IOS and will be available in summer. The graphics of the game jumped from Disney movies and the tween scenes were like an anime scenes. Already these two features, the computer version of the game was enough to search for and buy. The known game was Forgotton Anne, which was released on May 15, 2018 and is distributed by Square Enix and produced by ThroughLine Games.
Forgotton is also an engaging game with the story alongside Anne's graphics.
It happened to everyone; you know that an item is at home, but you will never find it. "Lan gin kidnapped mother of hell ?!" You ask your mother, "How do I know the other one of your socks ?!" Then you forget that thing. What if I told you that those things were actually going to a parallel world called The Forgotten Realm? A mysterious energy called “anima yerleÅŸ is placed in the forgotten realm; the objects that are placed in the anima are gaining consciousness and they start to work there as a civil servant. At the head of this order, there is a man named Bonku and a young girl who lives next to him but does not have any blood ties with him. This young girl, she becomes our main character, is Anne (pronounced “En)).
One day, the mother wakes up from her sleep because of a sound and goes downstairs to see what's going on. When the mother comes down she encounters a forgotten man with a red scarf.
This scarf called Dilly tells Anne that she has to listen to what she has to say and that she has not come to harm her. Of course, this is suspicious because Anne lives in a tower that cannot be underestimated and it is not easy to enter. Here, at the choice of the player, you release Dill or you kill him. After one of these actions, an explosion occurs at a train station that is far from the tower but can still be seen from the tower.
Seeing this, Anne contacts Bonku to report on the situation. Bonku tells us that there is a group of forgotten people (the items that carry anima are called forgotten) that call themselves rebels and ask Anne to take care of this situation. So Anne's adventure begins. Throughout her journey, Anne will question the accuracy of her system and endanger her life in parts of the Forgotten Realm.
Forgotton Anne has a very interesting story. It has a cover story to Isekai squads, which have recently been fucked up. It's a story that makes you wonder.
Unlike most Plarforme / puzzle games, Anne has an optional dialogue system. Of course it has made sure that some characters in this game are in the future and that the way things are handled is different, but when we look at the end of the game there are two endings, and if you choose which of these dialogue options, the end of the game looks at two different options at the end of the game. Nevertheless, it is a good thing that the story changes and the attitude of the characters we speak to is the result of the elections. Even though your choices do not create a large-scale event in the game, you can say “Anaaaa, huh, that's how I did it..
The biggest minus about the game's story: sometimes you can't empathize with forgotten in the game. “What's the relevance now? These are things. You're right, but there's something like this: the reason why some of the events happen in the game is to keep you empathized with the forgotten. When character development comes to an end, yes, you become empathetic, but this is after 70% of the game.
There are many fascinating scenes and very good works in terms of directing. You can even see it from the opening scene. The sequence of events, the sequences from the most striking moments of the story, give you a better connection with Anne.
Characters
Anne The Enforcer
Mother is the main character we play in. He doesn't remember how he got to the Forgotten Realm and the land of people. He has been in the Forgotten Realm since he was a child and raised by Bonku.
Even though she seems to be a self-confident girl who knows what she is doing, she becomes a more mature person when she realizes that the Forgotten Realm she has seen from afar doesn't actually know what she is doing. Actually, Anne is the reason why she was in the first place because she is an enforcer. Anne’s task is to execute the forgotten that violates the rules of the system. That's why Anne is so confident in her power.
In addition, Anne is a talented girl in mechanical systems and reverse engineering. He's smart enough to understand every system and technology in the Forgotten Realm.
Bonku The Master
Bonku, the mayor in the Forgotten Realm. The man at the head of the system and the inventor of almost all inventions in the forgotten land. A person who is overly fond of his beliefs and truths and is closed to innovation. She is obsessed with the drawing and voice of the character she is obsessed with, but she also has infinite love for Anne. A man who doesn't forget to say, “Don't forget, Mother, Priority.
In most parts of the game, Bonku, who is not physically visible to us, is busy making an invention to move from the Forgotten Realm to the land of people. In fact, Anne said that at the beginning of the game Bonku had locked herself in her room for a long time and had contacted Anne with mirrors that only worked with anima.
Gameplay
We came to the weakest aspect of the game. Before we talk about the shortcomings, let's explain the mechanics of the game.
Arcana
Arcana is the name of the object we killed above. Arcana is an item that can draw anima from forgotten and store it. In the game, we use Arcana not only for execution but also for solving puzzles related to anima systems. Arcana can not store superimposed anima so you can not withdraw anima from forgotten or any battery in the game, but after you spend anima to run a system, you can withdraw anima from another place.
Wings
Other items in the game mechanical wings. These wings allow you to jump long distance. As you can imagine, it is an item with more functions on the platform, but we also use it in the puzzle parts. If you don't have anima, you can't use wings.
There are original puzzles (40% in my opinion) in the game, but in some places the puzzles are repeating too much due to the mechanical systems in the game. Is there really only gas pipes and electrical cables connected to them in Big Forgotten Realm?
If I say so, the biggest drawback of the game is not a few similar puzzles because the game makes up for it with different sequences. The main distress character animations. They're not fluent. For example: you jump out of the character and press the jump to jump the long distance in the game. Okay, very nice, but when the character doesn't stop running when he jumps, he doesn't let go, but it seems as if he's running and jumping at a time. And when you jump, it looks like a wood jump. For these reasons, you cannot predict how far the character will jump. Wings make it worse. Sometimes the game asks you to jump out using wings. That's when the character stops running and then jumps. In the game you need to outrun two places and then jump with wings, but sometimes you can't jump, you fall from where you jump and you have to climb all the way from the beginning or solve the puzzle from the beginning.
And what is the reason? Debbie Ekberg, the head of the game's animation team, and her team have compared Anne's movements to an athletic but also non-acrobatic person, so that Anne's physical abilities are at an average level, and the players will find the character more realistic. Although they are not very successful, you can see Anne's animations appear to be collectively irregular but quite fluent on her own.
In the PC version of the game I found zero bug. If there are friends who find them, it is helpful to mention them in the comments below.
Appearance and Voice
I've praised upstairs a bit and I'm here. If present in each review, I will specify; I love hand drawings and I love it again. Looks like I was born out of those dark atmospheric cartoons of my childhood. Intermediate scenes and voiceovers are very nice. Especially in the English voice (I didn't actually play in another language, but anyway), it's great that they choose people with different accents for every forgotten, and best of all, the accents of the country-specific items (forgotten) are specific to that country. I wish they had anime in this game.
Music

The interaction of dialogue and music is just as beautiful. You know, sometimes it happens, while a happy moment in the series enters a pathetic music, but the music is so irrelevant that you watch cringe. This is not the case at Forgotton Anne, thank God. Sometimes there were times when I was hesitating, but the points of dialogue made music more meaningful.
Although it is a bit disappointing in the gameplay, it is quite satisfying in the art. If you are interested in graphics and story, I suggest you give it a chance.
